A Day at WonderCon 2019

Hey guys! Happy Spring! I hope everyone is enjoying the slightly warmer weather. Here in California the temperature already creeped up to 80°F!

Although today was warm, I spent it in good ole A/C at the 2019 Anaheim WonderCon!

I started in the Arena, where I checked out the panel for the CW show The 100 (I’ve never watched it before but it looks really interesting!). It was followed by the panel for Fear the Walking Dead, which was moderated by the amazing Yvette Nicole Brown!

Although I don’t watch Fear the Walking Dead, I’m a huge The Walking Dead fan and was all about Lennie James – did anyone else know he has a British accent?? Austin Amelio was also there as his character Dwight makes an appearance in the new season of Fear the Walking Dead.

After the panel, I spent the rest of my time wandering the exhibit hall. It was full of vendors and artists, as well as lots of people dressed in Cosplay. My favorites were Silent Bob, Deadpool dressed as the T.A.R.D.I.S, Carl Fredrickson from Up, and all the Carol Danvers/Captain Marvels. Note to self: take more photos of cool Cosplay!!

Are these the droids you’re looking for?

I really liked that WonderCon was pretty calm, cool, and collected compared to the chaos that is now San Diego Comic-Con. It may not have huge celebrities or pop culture icons, but WonderCon brings it back to basics with their focus on comics, artwork, and the fans. I definitely plan to attend next year – perhaps even the whole weekend!

With that, I leave you with a brief video of Cosplayers dancing to The Cupid Shuffle. Enjoy!

Did you attend WonderCon this year? Or do you have plans to attend in the future? Leave your comments below – I’d love to read them!
